Fortunato Carello (1989)
In the 1960’s, “Fred” Carello came into CCRI to be a math professor and thought his coaching career was over after being a successful coach at Warwick Vets and Pilgrim High School, but little did he know, it was just starting. He became CCRI’s first hockey and golf coach. Later on, he served as an assistant coach for hockey and was the golf coach until the early 1980’s. In his time coaching, he coached many All-New England players and has numerous amounts of championships. With that, he also was part of the math department and department chairman for 18 years.
